A Cropped High-Waisted Trouser for Spring and Tips for How to Pull it Off: WalkTrendy Fashion

I’m currently having a moment with blue. While pastels may be all the rage this spring, I love a pretty dark blue. It’s a classic color that can be worn day or night, summer or winter.

I recently found some black wide leg crop trousers and a cute blue sequin chiffon tank top from WalkTrendy.com. I love this unique take on a traditional trouser. Cropped pants are popping up everywhere and even though these pants are black, are still very fitting for spring thanks to the cut. While I’m not ready to go full-on with the culotte trend, cropped trouser pants are a great way to kind of ease your way into it, plus the length adds an unexpected look to your outfit and really does make it feel more like spring!

I have to admit when these cropped trousers showed up, at first I was a little afraid I wouldn’t have the confidence to pull of this look, but once I started trying on different shoes and accessories, I actually really started loving the pants the more I looked at them and wore them around.

The trousers are a soft lightweight chiffon with a high waist. It’s the perfect pant for spring to keep you cool, and is a great look for the office or for a night out. I love the high waist, which to me feels much more classy, especially for a nice trouser pant.

The trick to wearing cropped pants, especially a wide leg trouser like this, is pairing it will strappy high heels. I personally love this blue ankle strap heel with it. I think the ankle strap helps play up the fact that you’re wearing a crop and let’s the world know it was done on purpose  because no one wants to look like they just got caught in a pair of “floods!”

While sequin is generally more of a fabric for winter, I love that it adds a fun element of glamour to a black trouser. The back has a few layers of chiffon you can tie back like I did here to really define the waist. It is also longer in length in the back, but for a more classic look, I chose to tuck in the loose fabric in the back.

I love the the blue and black together because you really don’t see it often. A lot of people tend to think that they don’t go together, but the truth is you can wear neutrals with any color, yes even black and brown can go together! The trick is taking a good look in the mirror first before you walk out to make sure that the outfit looks like it was done on purpose.

I also decided to stay in the range of blues and chose a brighter shade of blue shoe, again to make it look like I’m fully aware that my pants are cropped. I also love that this draws attention to the length of my pant and my feet, since after all, crops are the big trend this season. I also chose a chain strap in blue and white handbag to go with my look as well.

My dog seems to like it! I’m really loving the fun cropped trouser with a flashy sequin top. I think it truly is a unique look but still totally on trend for Spring.

I do like these cropped pants on you. I’m not sure if I could pull it off because I’m much shorter than you but do like it. Thanks for the inspiration.

  2. This outfit is just gorgeous and as always you look fabulous.I too love the shoes but they would be too high for me.
