The Many Benefits of Tea Tree Oil: Thursday Plantation

Tea Tree Oil.. it’s probably one of those things you’ve heard plenty of but never actually tried. What exactly is it? Well, it’s a popular essential oil known for having many healing properties, found on a plant in Austrailia.

I’ve been aware of tea tree oil for years but it wasn’t until recently that I actually started using it, and to my surprise, I actually found out that this super handy antiseptic oil actually has a TON of benefits! And not just health benefits either! You can actually get some pretty amazing beauty benefits from using Tea Tree Oil too!

Tea Tree Oil can be used for a variety of different uses, including as an antisceptic for cuts, burns, stings, boils, and insect bites, to remove skin tags and warts, as an antifungal cream and for athlete’s foot, toothache, infection of the mouth, vaginal infections, for ear infections and earaches (mix with some olive oil and smooth around ear), inflammation, cold sores, chickenpox, head lice, to remove ticks, to help remove bad breath (add a few drops to your toothpaste), and even as a beauty treatment by treating dry cuticles, as well as skin conditions such as acne and psoriasis! It can actually heal quite a few different skin infections actually! You can also add a few drops to your shampoo for a shinier, healthier mane too!

Tea tree oil not just for the body either! It can also be used as a natural multi-purpose cleaner around the house and it works to help freshen carpet too! It also kills mold and you can also use it to help freshen up laundry! It can also be used in your garden and as a natural insect repellant too!

*Please note that Tea Tree oil just never be ingested – only used topically! It also should not be used on infants or pets.

This baby couldn’t have shown up a better time for me! I came down with the flu on Christmas day (yeah not so fun!) and I had previously read that you can use tea tree oil in your essential oil diffuser/humidifier to ease congestion, sore throat, and cough! So that’s just what I did! I added several drops of my Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Oil to my humidifier each day and placed it by my bed (or the couch) to help open up my airways while I laid there, so I could breathe better and limit the hacking too!

This isn’t the first time I’ve used tea tree oil for my health either. A few years back I removed a sock one day to see a nasty nail infection! Eww, I know! (Be sure to wear your flip flops around those public pools!) so I used tea tree oil over a period of a week or so to naturally heal the nasty nail fungus!

Tea tree oil is a hit among the famous too! Megan Markle (Prince Harry’s new fiance – if you’ve been living under a rock the last month!) has revealed in a recent Allure Magazine article that tea tree oil is her go-to skin care remedy! She said, “The one thing that I cannot live without when I’m traveling is a small container of tea tree oil… no matter what it is, it’s my little cure-all. It’s inexpensive, it’s small enough to carry on, and I bring it with me all the time.”
