I’m currently having a moment with blue. While pastels may be all the rage this spring, I love a pretty dark blue. It’s a classic color that can be worn day or night, summer or winter.
I recently found some black wide leg crop trousers and a cute blue sequin chiffon tank top from WalkTrendy.com. I love this unique take on a traditional trouser. Cropped pants are popping up everywhere and even though these pants are black, are still very fitting for spring thanks to the cut. While I’m not ready to go full-on with the culotte trend, cropped trouser pants are a great way to kind of ease your way into it, plus the length adds an unexpected look to your outfit and really does make it feel more like spring!
I have to admit when these cropped trousers showed up, at first I was a little afraid I wouldn’t have the confidence to pull of this look, but once I started trying on different shoes and accessories, I actually really started loving the pants the more I looked at them and wore them around.
The trousers are a soft lightweight chiffon with a high waist. It’s the perfect pant for spring to keep you cool, and is a great look for the office or for a night out. I love the high waist, which to me feels much more classy, especially for a nice trouser pant.
The trick to wearing cropped pants, especially a wide leg trouser like this, is pairing it will strappy high heels. I personally love this blue ankle strap heel with it. I think the ankle strap helps play up the fact that you’re wearing a crop and let’s the world know it was done on purpose because no one wants to look like they just got caught in a pair of “floods!”
While sequin is generally more of a fabric for winter, I love that it adds a fun element of glamour to a black trouser. The back has a few layers of chiffon you can tie back like I did here to really define the waist. It is also longer in length in the back, but for a more classic look, I chose to tuck in the loose fabric in the back.
I love the the blue and black together because you really don’t see it often. A lot of people tend to think that they don’t go together, but the truth is you can wear neutrals with any color, yes even black and brown can go together! The trick is taking a good look in the mirror first before you walk out to make sure that the outfit looks like it was done on purpose.
I also decided to stay in the range of blues and chose a brighter shade of blue shoe, again to make it look like I’m fully aware that my pants are cropped. I also love that this draws attention to the length of my pant and my feet, since after all, crops are the big trend this season. I also chose a chain strap in blue and white handbag to go with my look as well.

Swimsuit season is finally coming! Er, maybe you don’t exactly see it that way. More like, uh oh, I’m going to be seen in a bathing suit soon!
Well you don’t have to feel that way about it ladies? Vedette is here to help you look your best this summer whether at the pool, the beach, or even in your everyday clothes! Vedette not only offers a fabulous selection of shape wear for your every day needs but you can also get lovely shaping swimsuits that will suck in your belly, butt, and thighs, and give the girls some oomph too!
If you haven’t tried vedette shape wear yet, you absolutely must! You will be amazed just how much shape it really gives you! You can also get that amazing shape while lying out at the pool this summer! Yep, no need to feel less than completely confident now when you’re out getting some swim time in when the weather warms up!
Vedette has a fabulous selection of bathing suits to choose from. I personally loved this bright pink one piece, the Marlene. It makes an amazing bathing suit, but you might be surprised to learn you can also wear it as outerwear too! Yep, that’s right! I’m not going to model a bathing suit for you, but I will show you how you can dress it up for work or for a night out!
Here, I’m wearing the marlene one piece solid pink bathing suit from Vedette as a sexy bustier top. I turned it into a business-y look by wearing it with a pink blazer nearly in the same shade as the bathing suit, as well as sleek sequin pencil skirt.
I love this bathing suit so much because it really gives my bum a nice lift as well as sucks in around the middle. I get a little nervous posing in a high waisted pencil skirt because they can easily show the pooch you may not be so proud of, especially in this pewter color! The Vedette Marlene bathing suit not only sucks in my tummy giving me a nice flat shape in this pencil skirt, but also gives the girls a nice lift too. Which being an unfortunate A, I can always use! It gives me some pretty great cleavage indeed! And honey, you can bet there is not much that gives me that! This nice lightly padded bathing suit looks like it’s probably majorly padded to do that too, but it isn’t. Its super lightweight and comfortable but still manages to really give my chest a nice lift!
Yep, I’m head over heels for this bathing suit and you can bet I will be wearing it to the lake this summer too! See how I styled my Marlene Bathing suit from Vedette here:
Who would’ve thought that top was a bathing suit! And who would’ve thought it would be working so hard to give me such a lovely, flattering shape!

Hi lovelies, I have been writing about Venjoin a lot recently and that’s simply because they have such amazing, super stylish clothes that are also extremely comfortable AND affordable too! (See my favorite dress, the Renda Dress and my review on it HERE).
Their clothes are made of the most amazing fabric I’ve ever worn (I’m comparing to silk, cashmere, and bamboo here!) -Rayon! Like Bamboo, Rayon is actually made from a special type of wood, so it’s incredibly strong, but is also one of the softest, silkiest fabrics you will ever wear! Venjoin makes their clothing with 100% Rayon, so you can expect the comfiest clothing when you put on your Venjoin! The fabric is also eco-friendly and completely breathable too! You don’t have to worry about dry cleaning your garments from Venjoin either, they are safe to machine wash. Just be sure to use the delicate cycle and wash in your lingerie bag to keep the clothing from rubbing up against your washer or other clothing.
I’ve worn lots of clothing from Venjoin by now and I can’t rave enough about these super chic, on-trend dresses, rompers, maxi’s, harem pants and more! They are sure to grab attention and I absolutely love the fun prints you will find most of their different styles in too!
I’ll admit I was slow to join the harem pants trend, but once I did, I was completely hooked. They are hands down the comfiest pair of pants you will ever wear, but what is absolutely amazing about them, is just how chic and stylish they actually look when you’re wearing them! They are so comfortable, you feel like you’re wearing your pajamas!
They are so easy to dress up and down. Because they are drop wasted and super baggy, I decided to go with a tight fitted sheer top. I love the look of loose on bottom and a more snug top, to give the look a real cool juxtaposition. This is actually a great styling tip you should use for any outfit. You want to show your silhouette so if you’re going loose on half of your body, be sure to show your shape on the other half!
Since the harem pants really cover me up (they’re absolutely perfect for this time of year to keep you a bit warmer, but they are also super lightweight, so they will also transition into summer perfectly as well) I also decided a crop top would be the best way to go. I love showing just a little patch of skin here and there, and with the harem pant, the tummy is a great place to do it! These high waisted pants make the perfect pant to go with your crop top you may have sitting in your closet that you weren’t quite sure how to style!
My favorite part about these pants are the length. Being tall, I have a really hard time finding pants that are long enough, especially when it comes to harem pants. They are some of the hardest clothing to shop for when you are tall like I am (I’m 5’10). These pants come with a thick banded waist that will fit nearly any size. You can also wear them lower if you prefer or pull them up like I did here for a high-waisted look.
These pants also look amazing with both flats AND heels! Here I’ve styled them first with my black pointed flats, and then again with my black heels.
Check out how I styled my Harem Pants from Venjoin with Flats or Heels! Both look amazing with these fun printed pants, right?!
Isn’t this pant fabulous? It also comes in lots of different colors if you don’t love the purple as much as I do!
Plaid seems to be having a moment right now, in fact, it seems like it’s always in, doesn’t it?! Yeah, you can bet that plaid is always going to make a statement, especially in a pretty tartan print or a fabulously-chic red.
I recently came across a new fashion site I’m completely in love with Moooh.net. It not only offers some gorgeous plaid fashion like the knee-length circle skirt I’m wearing here, but you can find lots of gorgeous on-trend clothing for practically next to nothing!
Now I know I’ve blogged a lot about inexpensive clothing. In fact, I think most of us can agree that expensive clothing just isn’t in the budget most of the time for well…. most of us! But often times we end up sacrificing quality for inexpensive clothing. I don’t know about you, but often times I feel great about the deal, until the clothing arrives, and then suddenly I’m reminded why it was so cheap. I feel this wave of disappointment come over me, and I think to myself, I probably should’ve just saved myself the money and not bought this. I hate when that happens. It happens all too often too. And half the time it will cost you as much as you bought it to ship it back so then you end up keeping the dreadful piece of clothing anyway, even though you never end up wearing it. Yeah, I’ve done this way too many times to count. This is exactly why I love Moooh so much!
When you order from Moooh, the prices are so incredibly inexpensive you think to your self, shoot I hope I’m not disappointed with the quality when it arrives. I will admit, I thought this when placing my order, but I loved the plaid skirt so much, I decided to go for it anyway.
When the skirt arrived, I was blown away. It is super thick, and actually quite heavy. Exactly what you would expect if you had just paid a couple hundred bucks for this (but you didn’t! It only cost $58!) It also comes lined. Is it just me, or do you never see that anymore! Yet I completely appreciate and love that!
The only thing I noticed is that there is no hem at the bottom. After looking it over I decided that was just the way it was supposed to look. The material is so heavy-duty though, that it doesn’t fray or anything like that, and I actually kind of loved the unique look of this skirt not having a hem.
The 50’s vintage style of this skirt makes it so fun to play around with too. You could style it so many different ways, it will never get boring! Being the colder months right now, I absolutely loved and appreciated how warm it is too thanks to the thick, super cozy material it is made with (you would never guess its polyester!) I normally where a size medium being a size 6, but I went with a large and the high waist fit me perfectly!
