6 Ways to Dress up Jeans

6 Ways to Dress up Jeans

For many of you, jeans are the most versatile piece of clothing that you own. You probably own several pairs in a variety of styles and colors that you proudly wear almost anywhere you go, from work to nights out on the town and everywhere in between.

However, even with a closet full of jeans that perfectly compliment your body and style, when it comes to coming up with inventive ways of styling your “go-to” attire, it’s rather easy to slip into a rut.

Conversely, there are also plenty of you that aren’t used to wearing them a lot and you’ve recently taken to the style. Or, perhaps you have a job where the dress code is business casual and you could use a few tips on dressing up your jeans.

Either way, while it’s not as hard as decoding the weird and wonderful world of athletic shoes, we wanted to provide a few tips you can use as-is or add your own flair to.

1. Show Your “Animalistic” Side

With a great pair of relaxed jeans womens, the style options are virtually boundless—depending on the occasion and where you are going, of course.

For a new look, try wearing a pair of high-waisted jeans with a silky leopard-print blouse or a leopard-print slip dress layered over your jeans. With this fashion style, you should opt to trim back the rest of your accessories and go with neutral tones and a simple pair of gold earrings.

2. Simple Yet Sophisticated

For a classy look that is appropriate for work and play, combine your favorite pair of straight-leg jeans with a billowy white blouse. Round out the look with statement accessories, such as a beautiful pearl necklace and snakeskin shoes, and then top it all off with a pair of designer sunglasses to bring it all together.

3. Your Ripped Black Jeans

Whereas you or perhaps your parents may have thrown out their ripped jeans as teens because they were “ruined,” they are summer and fall fashion must-haves these days. To make a statement this season, pair your ripped black jeans with a simple white tee and a patterned blazer as opposed to a solid color for a chic look that is perfect from fall to spring.

For an alternate look, pair them with a silky cami, heels, and a matching bag.

4. Frayed-Edge Jeans & Graphic Tee

Sometimes you just want to dress down with a graphic tee and your favorite pair of jeans that are frayed around the edges a bit. While it may not seem like you can successfully dress up this look you have to remember, just about any style of jeans can be dressed up. With the right attitude and accessories.

Simply add a nice jacket, some heeled booties, a classic bag, and lipstick in your favorite shade of red, and you’ll be rocking your jeans with style.

5. Denim on Denim

As it gets cooler, try pairing your favorite denim jeans with a denim top that has a different wash or tone. Wear a belt, do a half-tuck of the top, choose some cute sandals and complete the look with a fun bag.

6. Skinny Jeans

Since so many of you have at least one pair of skinny jeans in the closet, we’d be remiss if we didn’t include a tip for dressing them up. An easy way to do so is by going with a ruffle top with matching accessories and a pair of open-toe heels.

As you can see, virtually any style of jeans can be dressed up. It just takes the right top, color combination, shoe choice, and selection of accessories. Do it right, and your arsenal of jeans can remain the staple of your wardrobe and show your sense of style wherever you go.
