How I learned to Keep My Drinking in Check: vorvida®

I always thought I had my alcohol intake in check, and to be honest, I probably did… until Covid hit. My drinking (along with probably 65% of Americans) went way up in 2020! I went from being the occasional weekend drinker to enjoying a glass of wine or beer every night at dinner, plus usually another drink or two more! And let’s not even bring up the weekend. I certainly enjoyed more alcohol than I have in the past when Saturday and Sunday came. I found myself, like most, stressed, not sleeping well, and worrying about finances. The days felt long, hard, and I just wanted to reach for that drink when I finished my workday to feel some relief.

It wasn’t long before I started to gain weight that didn’t come off for most of the year. I knew it was my drinking that was causing it, as my food intake hadn’t changed much at all, and I was still exercising regularly. I was stressed out and drinking more to cope. While I didn’t feel my drinking was a huge problem and something I couldn’t manage, I knew I certainly needed to cut back on the amount I was drinking.

Luckily I came across a pretty amazing program that helps you do just that: limit your drinking without completely giving it up! vorvida® is a discreet, clinically proven online program that helps you manage the intake of your alcohol with confidence and ease! It’s also super portable and easy to use on the go as well! Many users see a difference in as little as 3 months!

I personally love that vorvida® can be used wherever and whenever you want with any smartphone, tablet, or computer! Here you can see I’m using it on my phone on the go when out riding my scooter!

I got to try the platform out for the last month and I was amazed by how much it helped me! It helps hold me accountable, which I found to make a huge difference. I check in every day to note how much alcohol I drank the night before and then I am asked to rate my mood.I also totally noticed my alcohol intake usually correlating with my mood. Having a bad day seemed to correlate to drinking more. Not really much of a surprise here though, given that my drinking went up significantly during Covid!

But vorvida® is so much more than an alcohol diary! vorvida® helps you rethink how you drink. Powered by AI technology that personalizes the experience for every user, the vorvida® interactive online platform is clinically proven to change behavior around alcohol. It also provides 24/7 convenient access from home or on the go and allows you to take a mindful approach to your drinking habits. It uses proven tools and techniques that help manage drinking without having to talk to a therapist or a doctor. It’s also very unique to each user so you can get the max results for your own unique situations, goals, and drinking habits.

It gives you amazing tips each week to help you stay on top of your drinking. I loved the little weekly online chats and found myself looking forward to them each week! They were super helpful and gave great info and spreadsheets to help me feel more confident and to successfully help me manage my drinking with ease! As you can see from above, my alcohol intake actually did go down quite a bit during my month of using vorvida®!

By using vorvida® regularly, it helped me to identify triggers, break negative behaviors, and develop healthier responses to drinking or having the urge to drink often or too much, either alone or in social situations.

vorvida® helped me set my own goals while also creating a personalized approach to help me cut back on how much and how often I drink.

Overall, I’ve been very happy with the vorvida® program! I find myself enjoying more outdoor activities and spending less time indoors drinking! I feel healthier and happier too!

  1. This is so great that it does more than just track the number of drinks. That’s not always helpful. But using it to follow patterns could help so many people. And being an app, it could be really discreet, too.

    1. Absolutely! Especially during stressful times and if you find yourself with too much time on your hands (at least for me!) lol Thanks so much for reading and commenting! I appreciate it! xoxo

  2. It sounds like you’re doing really well and should be really proud of yourself. It’s surprising how easy it can be to slip into the habit of drinking almost every evening after work – for me, anyway.

  3. Wow this is so interesting. I had a friend that stopped drinking all together and now has started back up but is limiting herself of course. I’m going to mention this app to her. Thanks!

  4. This is a pretty cool program and glad that it helped you. It can get overwhelming at times and a drink or two is always welcome but making sure to not make it a regular habit is super important as the. It becomes a problem. Thanks for sharing your story 😉

  5. Oh wow never new this app and I don’t really drink a lot of alcohol maybe like once in a blue moon if that. I like alcohol I think I liked it more when I was in my 20s, but now not so much. I will deff recommend this to my sister she just turned 21 in June. I think this would be great for my siblings just for reference.

  6. I really love that this app could really help to get their drinking habits under control. Alcohol can easily get out of control and fast.

  7. My father was an alcoholic, and reading through the other comments, it’s pretty sad how many parents have had this illness. Because of what he experienced, I’ve stayed away from alcohol and drugs all my life.

    1. Don’t blame you at all! I’m sure if I had seen that first hand, I would’ve stayed away from it too! Thanks so much for reading and commenting! I appreciate your support! xoxo

  8. With so many people frightened and unsure about what the future might bring with the ongoing Pandemic, the consumption of alcohol has skyrocketed! An app like this can be extremely helpful in tracking not just how much someone drinks but when and possibly why. Great tool!

I have nevver been much of a drinker. Just the smell of beer to me is gross 🙂 But I do know a few people that should read this

  10. I want to commend you for this honestly, my eyes were opened to this issue in a much different way. It’s really easy to make drinking just a part of your daily life, I mean it’s literally EVERYWHERE…movies, tv, commercials, radio, in magazines, bus stop ads, grocery stores, gas stations…..everywhere. I just appreciate your honesty and putting it out there to be mindful, it gets easy to get consumed with so much these days , and not even know it . Thanks 🙂

  11. This is a great product for people who want to control their own addiction without going to a therapist or AA. It looks like there are lots of parameters to help you be successful. I am thankful that I was able to come off of very high doses of prescribed opioids. I really have to credit my pharmacist. He was there for me every step of the way. I am sure if there was a similar product like this for opioids, it would be welcomed onto the market.

Didn’t know this was a thing; good to know there are other tools out there besides support groups. Because sometimes the meetings aren’t enough accountability for some ppl.

  13. I am a huge coffee drinker, and haven’t had an alcoholic beverage in 2 decades! My nephew, though, could use this app.

I’m very proud of you for being able like to take a step back and re-asses your intake. It’s not an easy thing to do at all.

  15. Thanks for sharing this post. You look really happy and enjoying yourself. I really love the last picture. Very cute!

  16. Wow, I wish you all the best with your journey. I’m thankful that I don’t drink as it’s one of the hardest habits to kick! Withdrawal from alcohol is the same painful process as it is for someone withdrawing from heroin.

  17. I think this could be very helpful. I have heard a lot of people say they were drinking more due to all the mess that is going on in our covid world.

  18. This definitely sounds very useful to anyone who drinks. Sounds like a great app to have on your phone.
