As a fashion blogger, you can bet I love my leather goods. Shoes, bags, more shoes. I love them all, and as I’ve gotten older, I’ve been able to start buying more high-end leather goods that I want to be sure to take care of so I can have them forever, or at least get some of that money back when I decide to sell them later.

Up to now, my idea of taking care of my more expensive leather shoes and bags, is by not wearing them. I know that’s dumb, but I’m that person that would rather keep those Louboutins safe in a box in the back of my closet, rather then risk wearing them on a drunken girls night out when who knows what could happen to them? Some occasions, sure it’s easy to know when it’s best not to wear them, but oftentimes life just happens. I wore some new Jimmy Choos out the door and onto my deck and the heel got stuck between wood, and just like that, ruined. It happens unfortunately, but that doesn’t mean we should be scared to wear those lovely leather goods. Buying a $1500 pair of shoes to keep in a closet and never wear, thats ridiculous!

Well as you know I have not been so brave, but when I came across Chamberlain’s Leather Milk cleaning and conditioner for leather goods, my eyes were finally opened. I realize that while it may not repair that squished heel, it will keep my bags and shoes looking brand new, not to mention protecting them too!  I admit I look at the shoe care stuff in the isle at the grocery store, and I’m like, no way I’m going to take the time to do that to all of my shoes. But when I got my Chamberlain’s Leather Milk and saw just how easy it was and that it literally takes less than a minute, I’m hooked! I’ve started cleaning and conditioning all of my shoes and bags! I’ll admit though, I made my husband clean my boots for me first. I didn’t even dare touch it myself until I saw him do it. He has been cleaning his shoes for years and doesn’t get nervous about the chance of ruining them like I do.

When My Chamberlain’s Leather Milk showed up, he was actually way more excited about it then I was, and asks if he can try it out first on his boat shoes that are looking completely wrecked. I told him to jump right in, then I could watch how it was done, and hopefully put the nerves to rest a bit.

He went right to work. Here are the before shots, so you can see the difference:

Then of only about a minute or two of polishing the shoe with the leather milk and the buffer it comes with (be sure to clean your shoes first with a little water and a towel, if they are super dirty like these boat shoes). I was amazed at how fast he was done. He then buffed it with a dry towel after, which only took another minute, and presto! He was done!

Wow right?! They look brand new, other than you can tell the laces and soles are a bit worn. I was incredibly impressed with the results, and trust me, my camera is not even doing it justice here. It was a huge difference. We cleaned these shoes a few weeks ago and these shoes are still looking just as nice as they did right after we finished cleaning and conditioning them!

I made him try it out on my Jimmy Choo Boots. I actually finally started wearing these a whole bunch this last winter, but because they cost me a small fortune, I take really good care of them. So I wanted to use my Chamberlain’s leather milk mostly for conditioning, because I’ve had them for a few years and never done anything to them as far as cleaning or protecting them.

But I loved the life it seemed to bring back to my boots anyway. They look and feel a bit softer and shinier. I smiled just knowing I had finally done something to them to help sustain their life.

When using Chamberlain’s Leather Milk, always test it out on a small inconspicuous corner first, to make sure its not going to die the product. It is a bit dark so if you have a lighter colored leather good, test it first! I’ve found it to work great on everything I’ve tried though. Also don’t use it on suede or extremely soft leather, as it is highly absorbent. 

I’m so excited about this product. I love that it’s so super easy to use and I loved the results it gave me! I also feel good using it, knowing I’m finally doing something to give new life to my shoes as bags, as well as condition and protect them, and help keep them looking fabulous for many years to come!

If you love your leather shoes, bags, and clothing like I do, you need to have this in your home! The last thing you want to do is buy that super expensive bag, only to see it wither away after a few years because you never did anything to take care of it. Or even worse, keep those shoes in a box in the back of your closet, never to be worn because you’re too scared!

    I don’t own any real expensive leather shoes. I do have a real leather bag that I received as a present and I use it every single day. It definitely could use some help from this product.

    So glad I read this because I am treating all my leather winter items this weekend before I put them away for the summer. I am glad that it is really absorbant . . I wasn’t really sure what to use, so thanks!
