I recently got to try the Clear Rayz Acne at-home LED light treatment, and boy was I surprised by the results! Lets start with a quick lesson on how Clear Rayz works, and then I will fill you in on the good stuff!
For those of us who don’t know how acne is caused, hey I didn’t either before I did a little research, its a skin condition caused by changes in oil sebum production beneath the surface of the skin. These oils are generally caused by hormone changes, commonly found among teenagers, but also for a lot of us poor adults too! These oils mix with dead bacteria and skin cells and in turn cause blockage in the pores. This bacteria then causes inflammation among the skin, or zits! And if the zits weren’t bad enough, they often leave behind scars sometimes for a lifetime!
Clear Rayz is an LED light, cleared by the FDA, which utilizes pain free light waves in blue and red light, to treat mild to moderate acne. The light is completely painless and safe! No harmful UV Rays or chemicals are used!
Research has shown that LED BLUE light at 415 nanometers causes chemical changes in the bacteria under the skin, destroying it. LED RED light at 633 nanometers then penetrates the skin to combat the inflammation and heal the break out.
The CLEAR RAYZ LED light treatment is very easy to use, and like I said completely painless. The manual recommends treating the skin 6 days a week for the first two weeks, using the red light 5 days and the blue light one day. On week 3, only two days of red light is needed and one day of blue light. At week 5, it is recommended to use as needed.
This device is simple to use! Simply plug it in, turn on the power button and the red light lights up! Be careful though, it is super bright so don’t point it directly at your face when you turn it on! Place on your skin and after 3 minutes it will beep and it is time to move it to another part of your skin. You will do this four times each treatment for a total of 21 minutes per session. I picked up my phone and played around on Twitter or Pinterest to pass the time, and it flew by!
After the 21 minutes, it will automatically turn off. You then unplug it and wipe it down with a damp soft cloth and thats it!
I added this into my normal routine, which consists of washing my face, following with my Proactiv Reparing lotion, my skin brightening serum, and lastly, my night cream. After the first week I started to notice a huge improvement. I used this treatment on my cheeks and chin, since this is wear most of my acne has been occuring lately. I usually have probably about 8-10 zits at a time in this area. After week one that number was cut in half!
After week two, my skin started to get a bit dry, which can happen with Clear Rayz and is fixed by doing less weekly treatments. On week three I dropped to only the three treatments and by the end of the week, I had only 2 zits! I’ve been using this for a month now and my skin is not as dry and I’m only getting one or two zits at a time now- mostly in other places where I haven’t used my Clear Rayz, such as my upper lip (which is where my two zits are at this moment).
I am EXTREMELY impressed with CLEAR RAYZ and so glad I got to try it out! The only things that has really worked well for me are Proactiv and this! I only use the Proactiv repairing lotion, as the whole system leaves me insanely dry. Using the two of these things together has worked miracles on my skin! I haven’t had such little acne in over a year, when my acne first came on like a bat out of hell!
I highly recommend this awesome tool for anyone struggling with mild to moderate acne! This tool is such a HUGE lifesaver! I also am not sure if it was the LED light or the combination of it and my spot reducing serum I’ve been using along with it, but my acne scars and have also been reduced significantly, in only a month’s use!
I’ve used A TON of acne treatments and products over the last year, I mean A TON!! But only a few top my list, and this is one of them, and its at the very top! Its a little on the pricey side ($199) But so totally worth it! I feel confident enough to walk outside bare faced again, thanks to how great my skin is looking now, and I haven’t been able to do that for over a year!
