Am I the only one dreaming of summer already? Ugh, this time of year can be rough for us sun-worshipping fashionistas. Especially when the only sea we’re currently seeing is a sea of drab, boring, bundled up winter clothing. Yep the cooler fall weather may be here but that doesn’t mean there’s no need for that sexy white little bikini! Speaking of  bikinis.. I came across a great little site for some of the most beautiful- crochet- bikinis on the planet! SeaSideMotif’s by the TheSwimWearTags.com. They have a great selection of some of the most colorful, beautifully crocheted bikinis. Each piece is handmade in the USA and comes in sizes small-large. Thanks to the bikinis being STRING bikinis, it’s easy to adjust the size for perfect fit.

If you haven’t worn a crochet bikini before, they are absolutely stunning on. They will fit a little different than the typical stretchy nylon swimsuit fabric you’re use too. They obviously don’t give as much but they also look much more flattering. The strings also stay put very well, you never have to worry about them coming undone. They can be a little loose around the edges, so make sure you get a good fit so you don’t end up with the dreaded “Bikini fall out.” Also be especially weary of this when swimming, as crochet bikinis can loosen up quite a bit. I actually wear mine just for laying out and soaking up the rays. (Wow if that sentence didn’t just make me miss summer a whole bunch!)

The SeasSide Motif crochet swimming suits are made to handle chlorine and salt, but probably not the best bikini to wakeboard in. Just sayin! Just be sure if you do get them wet that you rinse them out with cold water after use, and use only mild soap if needed. Lay flat to dry.

I got to try out one of these super exquisite, delicate bikinis for myself. I chose white, which if you want a white bikini, crochet is totally the way to go. You absolutely never have to worry about other beachgoers getting a better view of your backside then you planned. They aren’t see-through at all, thanks to the sturdy, yet delicate stretch cotton yarn used to make them.

Don’t worry, I’m not going to show you a picture of my pale winter body in the gorgeous crochet bathing suit in my bedroom, since I unfortunately live in Utah, not San Diego. But did you know white makes you look more tan, which in turn makes you look slimmer? Just another FYI when it comes to picking out your next swimsuit for your tropical vacation this spring. No need to tan unsafely, just wear white or other light colors for the most flattering look.

I ordered a small/medium thanks to having a smaller chest.  I normally wear a small top and medium bottom since my hips are a bit wider. Thanks to being able to adjust the strings, I got a perfect fit up top AND on bottom. The straps feel sturdy and I can move around in them just fine. The bottoms are a little wider and looser on my behind, but I don’t mind this, because I know it means there are less chances of anything “falling out.” I also really love the high, brazilian cut of the bikini bottoms as well. They show some cheek, but just enough that it looks super sexy and flattering instead of showing off way more than I intended.

The look and feel of the crochet is absolutely stunning.  I probably should have showed a picture of you on, because pictures of it lying flat on my carpet just isn’t doing it justice. The bikini is incredibly flattering and the crochet texture really makes it look much more elegant, and expensive-looking than most traditional bikinis. I picture myself wearing it on a luxurious beach vacation in St Barts.

Another thing I love about this bikini, is that for us smaller-chested girls, we usually need a bit of padding. And for the bigger girls, well you do too or you run into RT (um, protruding nips if you’re not sure what that means), which your guy may love, but chances are, you do not! While this bikini also comes with the padded liners, thanks to it being crochet, and the texture being nice and thick, you can totally take them out if you choose and not have to worry about them getting bunched up, sliding out, and of course like I just mentioned, RT!

Isn’t this bikini fabulous? Yeah I’m totally sold on crochet! Super chic, elegant, and well… unique! You don’t see that many of them! It’s also crazy comfortable too. No uncomfortable tugging or pulling, and you absolutely never have to worry about getting a dare I even go here…wedgie, in one of these things and figuring out, where on a crowded beach you can safely pull it out without anyone noticing- Good Luck with that! Oh and That bit of info right there…. I’m SOLD!
