Summer is coming and many people are working out harder than ever!
Getting fit sometimes results in aches and pains and reaching for OTC pills is not always the healthiest solution.
Doctors agree that topical OTC analgesic products, in the form of creams, gels, sprays and patches, are a healthier solution for pain management.
“Acetaminophen has a narrow therapeutic window, meaning the difference between a safe and effective dose and an overdose, which could led to liver toxicity, is a relatively small increment in milligram consumption,” says Dr. Aristotle Economou, author and acclaimed Beverly Hills physician.
“Topical pain relievers such as creams, gels, and sprays work locally and large reduce, although they do not entirely eliminate the systemic risk, that OTC pain pills can present.
The Salonpas patches are the first and only topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSADs) approved through the FDA’s rigorous New Drug Application process which is the same process used to approve prescription medicines.”
By putting the medicine right at the site of pain, bypassing the stomach and liver, Salonpas can use less medicine to deliver an effective dose.
I got to try it out myself this last month for a nasty foot sprain I got while out longboarding this April! It’s been a long painful healing process, but once I got my hands on Salonpas, my foot finally found immediate and soothing relief! I could walk around again without limping a ton, my shoes felt more comfortable and less painful to wear again, and I found that my foot started healing quickly too, and of course, felt a TON better! AND I’m happy to say my foot is almost 100% again!
These products from Salonpas are very easy to use. They have great creams, topical analgesics, pain patches, heated pain patches, gel patches, and more, that all work quickly and effectively to soothe skin, sore muscles, joint pain backache, neck ache, knee pain, elbow pain, sprains (like my foot sprain!), bruises, and more and help your body recover more quickly!
One thing I’ve seen is that the United States is much more reliant on taking pills for pain than the rest of the world, where topical analgesics, physical therapy, and other approaches are more widely used,” says Dr. Bob Arnot, who over the course of his career as a physician, Chief Medical Correspondent, and War Correspondent, has been exposed to a wide variety of pain management drugs and approaches.
“The reliance on pills, many of which come with side effects that can be severe when used in greater quantities than labeled or for longer than labeled has led me to conclude for muscle, back and joint pains it’s best to start with ‘Topicals First’.”
“As a physician, I have shared some great options to safely and effectively relieve your pain,” says Dr. Bob Arnot on the video where he comments on recommended Arthritis medicines, “Salonpas Pain Relief Patch Large, the first OTC topical analgesic ever approved by the FDA, and a new entrant to the category, Voltaren Arthritis Pain Gel which was recently approved by the FDA for OTC use.”

For a dad who suffers from aches and pains, a gift that says you really care is a suite of pill-free OTC analgesic products from Salonpas. Treating mild to moderate pain in the safest way possible demands using topical pain relief medications like from Salonpas.
With topical analgesics recommended as the first-line of treatment by physicians in much of the world, it’s time for the United States to follow suit. The Centers for Disease Control [16] is guiding physicians to consider topicals as “alternative, first-line” treatment for pain, “thought to be safer than systemic medications” with “lidocaine for neuropathic pain, topical NSAIDs for localized osteoarthritis, topical capsaicin for musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain.”
By putting the medicine right at the site of pain, bypassing the stomach and liver, Salonpas can use less medicine to deliver an effective dose. Try it and we think you will agree that Salonpas offers powerful relief when and where you need it!
