I haven’t had one but do think it would be beneficial
We have breakdown coverage, which is similar, as an add on through our home insurance and it is definitely worth it. It paid for all new A/C- and heating unit last year.

We’be had one when we first bought our home. Thank goodness, we never had to use it! We haven’t had one in years. I think they are good to have, if you want peace of mind.
