How to Deal with Your Curly Hair

If you are someone who has curly hair, then you already know that it is more difficult to deal with than other hair types. You have to handle it in a completely different way and sometimes that is hard to do. Did you know, though, that your hair even needs to be dried differently too? While having tools like the curly hair dryer from Devachan is very helpful, if you want to keep the frizz away and maintain the beautiful and natural curl that your hair has, keep in mind a few of these tips.
One very important thing that you need to remember is not to use a terry cloth for your hair. The terry cloth will just sap your hair of the moisture that it so badly needs. The harsh fibers will ruffle your hair and cause the frizz that you are trying to avoid. Use a micro-fiber instead. Some girls have even used paper towels and old shirts that have worked great.
Once your hair is blotted dry with the towel of choice, you should apply gel in a generous amount. You can use your styling product of choice for the process, but remember to not touch your curls while they are drying. Your touch will disperse the curls and cause them to go frizzy. Air drying is the very best option for those with curly hair, but it can take a while.
Most women wrap their hair in a turban-style with a towel after they shower. This is not something that you should do. A towel turban will open the cuticles, absorbs way too much moisture, and messes with the natural pattern and shape, of your beautiful curls. If you want to keep the frizz away, then make sure to break the habit of wrapping your hair in this way. It’s better for you to use the method of cupping your hair in your hand and gently scrunching it upward. Repeat this around your entire head.

If you don’t have the time to air dry, then you should use a tool like the curly hair dryer from Devachan. When you use the right hair dryer, you will create a microclimate that will lock the moisture into your curls to keep it beautiful and natural.

  1. I have naturally curly hair however I have never really spent much time trying to style it because of the trouble and time it takes. In saying that if I tried some of the tips you have suggested I may have it easier. I am one of those who will wrap my hair in a terry cotton towel as well as wrapping up my hair like the turban style. Looks like my hair may have new hope!

  2. That is an interesting and slightly funky looking dryer! I have baby fine straight hair. The only time I really like my hair is if I’ve gotten a perm so i have some body and curl.
