Living in Utah, its a quick jaunt to Las Vegas, and anytime I have the itch to get away, have some fun and take on some adventure, you can bet I’m in the car heading south to Sin City! In fact, just this weekend, I set out to Las Vegas with a new wonderful man in my life to explore the night life, take in the sights and entertainment, and indulge in a little gambling and drinking too. Being that we were spending some time with his lovely little girl, we spent a lot of time on the Strip looking for fun activities for families and children, like exploring chocolate Heaven in the M&M Store.
As a fashion blogger, You can bet I have my eye on the fashion no matter where I go. What I notice quickly about Las Vegas, is that the standard wear for women, is usually club wear. Lots of bandage dresses, sequins, mini dresses, and mostly in black or metallic! Basically, you can get away with wearing anything in Vegas, even straight up Thongs right there on the strip, and I’m talking for men too! (Yep totally saw the “Band Members” of KISS right there on the strip wearing something that made even me blush!)
Vegas is known for its sexiness, shock-causing fun, adventure, and even style. While a club look is great for the club, and even though it’s still fitting in Sunny – Glamorous Las Vegas, I wouldn’t recommend going that sexy, unless you’re ok with being mistaken as the entertainment. I like to stand out with my style a bit and go for something a little different while keeping it sexy and fun, but in a more understated way.
This weekend, I actually made it a point to go with some looks that were still pretty eye-catching and sexy, yet not too overboard since I was participating in some family activities too. I wanted something comfortable to wear for walking hours on the strip too, because If you’ve ever been to Vegas, you know it can require some serious amounts of walking!
I love this chic little pastel purple mini-dress and white camisole for daytime in Las Vegas. In this dress, you can still feel sexy in Vegas, as dressing in “normal” daytime attire can make you feel more Amish than a tourist! This look instead, easily transitions to nighttime too, as often in Vegas where the party never stops, you don’t make it back to your hotel to change for evening.
For walking the strip, a Cute Crossbody handbag is a must. I love this cute Kate Spade light purple chain cross body. I can keep all of my needs stored nicely away in style, and can rest the chain strap across my body so my handbag is one less thing I have to carry.
A comfortable pair of heels is a must. I love a cute wedge sandal as these tend to be the comfiest (even over flats for walking long distances) or a cute low, extra cushiony supportive heel with gel inserts, like this cute cherry and rose print pump, again in light purple.
Together, these 3 items make my Las Vegas fashion-must haves for feeling stylish and sexy, yet being comfortable for walking around glitzy Las Vegas all day and well into the evening!
Happy Shopping AND Traveling!
