The warm weather is here and it’s finally time for skirts! I love this time of year when I can finally where what I want to wear, not what will keep me warm. I’m a big skirt person, in fact it’s my favorite thing to wear, and my go-to outfit as soon as the weather warms up.

As soon as spring arrives, I’m immediately on the hunt for skirts I can wear all summer long, and a few I can take into winter (dark colors, thicker texture skirts that look great with tights). I love that the long maxi skirt is back, and has been for several years now. It’s not going anywhere soon, so you know it will be a great piece to buy that you will be able to get lots of wears out of for several more seasons.

The midi-skirt (skirts that come to the middle of your calf) have also come on strong this year. They’ve been popping up on the spring and fall runways and are one of the biggest statement-making skirts you can wear this season. They are super playful like the maxi, and most are soft, flowy, and incredibly feminine too. I love that they show a little more leg then the maxi, and look amazing with high heeled sandals.

When stocking up on skirts this season, don’t forget the mini! The mini skirt is the perfect piece of clothing to throw on for a night out during the hot summer. It can be dressed up easily for a night out by adding some glamourous accessories, like a sparkly clutch and some gorgeous high heeled pumps or sandals, or you can dress down the mini by wearing it with sneakers (which sneakers paired with skirts and dresses are huge this year) and a loose big t shirt on top. The Mini truly is a great versatile piece to have this time of year, but you can do the same with the maxi skirt too. Wear it with a tshirt for a cool day time look, and a chiffon button down or beaded tank top and heels for a night out look as well.
