Tame the Frizz and Curls for Good: Zelo Keratin Hair Straightening Review

This time of year seems to bring out the worst in my frizz, when it comes to my hair. There is still a nip in the air and I’m still wearing jackets and sweaters, and when I step outside, whoosh, static and frizz galore! Ugh! Completely annoying!

Thanks to having super thick, long hair, which is naturally dry AND I already live in a super dry climate, frizz is a constant battle for me. All year long I tend to deal with it, but spring and winter seem to be especially worse.

Along with my dry, naturally frizzy hair, it’s also very wavy, so sometimes straightening it doesn’t even get this super thick hair with stubborn waves, actually straight. If I do get it super straight, then yep, you can bet there will be frizz!

I was super thrilled when I heard about Zelo’s Brazillian Keratin Smoothing System for frizzy, dry, stubborn wavy or curly hair.

When I got my Zelo Clarifying Shampoo and Action Keratin Smoothing Solution duo, I dug right into it,  I was so excited to see what it could do for my unruly, dull, lackluster, and of course, frizzy hair!

When trying out the Zelo Smoothing System for yourself, you will want to devote an hour or so to it. It takes some time to process on your hair, so be sure to cut out some time for yourself in your day to let it do it’s magic.

I used mine on a sunday morning. I put the shampoo in the shower and then jumped in the shower to get started. You wash your hair with the clarifying shampoo twice (Step 1). Rinse, then when you get out of the shower, you towel dry your hair, leaving it a bit damp.

Then divide your hair into four sections and clip so you can work one section of hair at a time. Comb through your hair with a wide tooth comb to make sure its free of tangles. Then put on your gloves, and apply the Action Keratin Smoothing System (Step 2) to your hair. Stay clear of roots, and use your comb to coat your hair evenly with the product. Apply to all four parts of your hair. Then put your hair up in a shower cap, and let it sit for 40-45 minutes to process.

Once it had done it’s magic on my hair, I rinsed my hair and then washed with the clarifying shampoo for a third time to rinse out the solution. Once your hair is rinsed and towel dried, you will want to be sure to use your blowdryer and flat iron afterward to seal in the product and give you the maximum smoothing results from your Zelo Keratin System.

Wow, big difference, right! It’s very obvious from the pictures, my hair is much more smoother and straight. My hair also feels much softer and is much, much shinier too! My Zelo smoothing system not only smoothes the waves and tamed the frizz for me, but it also makes my hair look and feel so much healthier too. I can run my fingers though my hair no problem, and for once, no tangles. My hair is so naturally thick and long that tangles are nearly impossible to avoid, especially after sleeping on it, but after using my Zelo smoothing system, my hair is completely tangle free!
Here’s the kicker. Where I really noticed the big difference came a day or two later. My hair usually gets dull after sleeping on it. I have to apply shine serum when I wear out my shampoo for the second and third day, but when I woke up the next day, my hair looked incredibly shiny! I was beyond impressed. Also, sometimes I need to re-flat iron my hair on the second or third day to get those unruly waves in the back of my head to straighten out again, but not after using Zelo!
My hair stayed perfectly straight, and shiny for days afterwards! I’m completely hooked on this smoothing system and you can bet I will be using it again and again. You can also get several uses out of the bottles too! 
Oh and the frizz? I haven’t experienced any this week since I used my Zelo on Sunday! Wow! Thats impressive!

    WOWZA! The proof is in your pictures! I think your hair also looks good in the “Before” photos, but speaking as someone who has frizz-prone hair, I know how quickly my “Cute waves” turn into a big poof, so seeing how sleek your hair looks afterwards I can just picture the difference for myself. I have several straightening treatments, a flat iron, and try to cut my hair to make it smoother – so I am bookmarking this page right now so I can refer back to it!

    This looks like a great product. My daughter used to flat iron her hair pretty much every day and makes me CRAZY! I’ll have to check it out for her.
