Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil Review

With so many beauty/skincare products out there now, sometimes it’s hard to find the right products to help with our skin concerns. While there are indeed many great products out there that can help, sometimes some of the most beneficial skin care products available are already in our homes, in the kitchen cupboard instead of our bathroom!

Coconut Oil is an amazing product that can benefit the outsides of our bodies as much as the insides. Coconut Oil is largely used for cooking, and can be found in lots of stir frys and baking, thanks to its ability to aid in digestion. It is one of the most healthy cooking oils available. The fat in Coconut oil aids in the absorption of important vitamins, nutrients, minerals, and amino acids the body needs to be strong and healthy.

Coconut oil has also been proven to stimulate metabolism, increase energy, and help improve thyroid function.

Besides tasting incredibly delicious, Coconut oil is also the lowest-calorie, all natural fat available

So where exactly does Coconut Oil come into play with helping improve skin? Well for starters, it’s a fabulous moisturizer and has amazing restorative abilities. Coconut Oil can be used as a face moisturizer, a hand moisturizer, as well as for dry lips, and dry cracked heels. It is really great for super dry skin and those suffering from Excema, Dermatitus, or Psoriasis. The fat in coconut oil is also great at reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Which is exactly why so many skincare products already contain this magical ingredient!

Coconut oil also makes a really great hair conditioner and when massaged into the scalp, rids the head of dandruff as well as repairs, dry, damaged hair. Just massage into your scalp well, and distribute evenly through hair, put on a shower cap and leave on for one hour, then rinse out and say hello to healthier, shinier hair!

Besides all of these wonderful health and beauty benefits, Coconut oil is extremely inexpensive, all natural, smells amazing, and is not tested on animals. Unfortunately not all skincare products can claim that!

For the last week, I got to test Tropical Traditions’ Virgin Coconut Oil. I was so excited when it arrived to try out all these amazing beauty benefits and put Coconut Oil to the test!

Upon opening it, it smelled so amazing, I decided to start first with dinner! I made my traditional Tofu Stir Fry for dinner. I usually use coconut oil but I hadn’t tried Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil… The Tropical Traditions Cononut Oil was much stronger smelling and after I tried my Stir Fry, I was very pleased with the taste. It tasted sweet and was strong enough I didn’t have to add my soy sauce like I usually do! I loved the taste and tried it again the next night for pan frying a veggie hot dog. Once again it gave my food a sweet taste, that I really enjoyed even on a hot dog!

I loved using the yummy coconut oil in my cooking, but I was anxious to put it to the test, in some fun beauty treatments!

First, I decided to try it as a lip balm. I loved the taste, so much that I tended to lick my lips more than I should. I did however find that the coconut oil was soothing and very moisturizing on my lips.

I then tried the Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil as a face moisturizer. I loved this! It feels smooth and soft when applied, and I found it to be incredibly moisturizing! It seems like it would be greasy because its an oil, but it soaked into my skin right away. I have been using it morning and night as a moisturizer every day since, and have really enjoyed using it! I don’t know if its the coconut oil or the tea tree oil I started using for blemishes, because I started using them both at the same time, but my acne has actually cleared up really well! I was super impressed because I have tried EVERYTHING for the Acne!

I have also been using the coconut oil as a hand cream all week, and my hands feel soft and smooth. You can use it as a body moisturizer too, although I found it to be a bit greasy when applied to my whole body.

A few days after receiving the coconut oil, I tried it as a hair mask. I washed my hair, then applied the coconut oil from roots to ends and left it on for about an hour and then rinsed it out. I found I applied it a bit too heavily and my hair was a bit greasy after using it,  but after I washed it again, my hair seemed more soft and shiny then normal! I have super dry hair so I found this to be an excellent treatment for moisturizing my strands! And I have to admit, I really enjoyed the hour sitting there with it on my hair, because I kept smelling the wonderful coconut scent!

I also used the coconut oil for massage and loved how it felt and how well it glides across the skin! The skin soaks it up nicely but you don’t have to keep re-applying it either, and the scent is uber relaxing!

I had a really great time reviewing this product and as you can see its not just for cooking! There are so many great ways you can use coconut oil in your beauty routine! The best part is its natural, inexpensive, and you can find so many great uses for it! I’ve even heard of it being applied to cuts to aid healing!

If you are in the market for a new moisturizer, or perhaps you would like to free up some space by using products with multi-purposes, Tropical Traditions’ Virgin Coconut Oil is perfect for you! I had so much fun using this product and will continue to use it for lots of different things!
