With Valentine’s Day coming up, it’s time to start brainstorming the perfect hairstyle for your date night! Using Dry Shampoo, Strong Hold Hairspray, Smoothing Serum, and an Infrared Curling, you can create the dreamiest of hairstyles
This romantic braided chignon is the perfect look for a fancy dinner date or a night out on the town. Please see the steps below, by hairstylist Tony Odisho!
Step 1
Apply Dry Shampoo at the roots for added texture. Then apply Smoothing Serum from the mid-shaft to ends for a sleek, lightweight shine.
Step 2
Part the hair into four sections (pictured below).
Step 3
Use a mini crimper to add some texture and volume at the roots. Be sure to keep heat away from extension tape strips or fusion bonds. If you don’t have a crimper, boost volume using a teasing brush.
Step 4
Pin top section into a little bouffant.
Step 5
Create three braids using the back section of hair.
Step 6
Gently pull on the sides of each braid to make them look fuller.
Step 7
Wrap the right braid around the middle braid and pin into place.
Step 8
Repeat step 7 with the left braid.
Step 9
Wrap the middle braid into a spiral in the center and pin it into place.
Step 10
Twist the front right section of hair inward, leaving a couple of face-framing pieces behind. Then pull it back and pin it.
Step 11
Repeat step 10, but on the left side.
Step 12
Curl remaining hair, using the Infrared Curling Iron.
Step 13
Add in some decorative pins or clips to make the hairstyle pop. Finish with Strong Hold Hairspray.
And there you have it! A gorgeous braided chignon hairstyle, perfect for Valentine’s Day.
Happy Styling!

A chignon is a classic, elegant updo. I like that the braid shakes it up a bit.
I always thought of the chignon as elegant for one of the special occasions. My niece is a beautician and she would understand how to do this. I have no talent in fixing hair
I have never been able to successfully do a chignon, lol. I’ll have to give this a try.
Thanks for this. I love this look, but I needed to be able to read instructions in order to even attempt it.
