If you’re looking to build up value in your home, you should be focused on improving the kitchen and the bathrooms. Changes here can add as much as 20 percent onto the asking value of your property when you put it on the market. But, if you are looking for an area of your home to improve that will add the greatest benefit to you, it’s best to think about the living area.
Think about it, the living room is where you’ll spend the most time, and it’s one of the rooms that will matter most to your family. You can use it to watch TV together, have a family film night or perhaps entertain guests who are visiting your property. The problem is that a living room renovation can be expensive. So, how can you deal with the costs if you don’t actually have that much money to play with for your redesign.
Saving On Wall Decorations
Art for the wall can be expensive which is a shame. It’s a great way to give your living room some character and ensure that it looks wonderful. But even prints of popular pieces can be more than you would want to put towards a room redesign. Particularly, if you have other plans for that money. But you don’t want to leave your walls bare either and here lies the conundrum. The answer is to invest in wall decals. Wall decals are cheap and stylish too. They are often contemporary designs, and the best part is that they are even easy to put up. You don’t need to worry about finding the stud for this particular wall decoration. Simply stick the decal on and smooth it out to avoid air bubbles. Immediately, you’ve dressed up your room and kept spending low.
Fancy Furniture?
If you’re looking to buy some new furniture for your room, there are a couple of steps that you can take to keep the cost under control. First, do make sure that you are looking for deals online. All through the year, furniture stores are having sales, and all you need to is find the right one at the right time. You may also want to look at the different vouchers and codes online available for this type of purchase.
However, if you have bought furniture before, you’ll know the actual cost isn’t the greatest issue. The delivery is far more problematic and can be a fortune. That’s why you should use a private delivery service or a furniture courier. Hire them, and you can easily keep this particular cost under control.
Don’t Replace, Clean
Finally, you might be thinking about pulling up the carpet and completely changing your living room floor. Rather than doing this though, why not just give it a proper clean. Cleaning the floor using a professional service will give it back the natural color that might have been lost after years and years of use. The right cleaning service can make your room look brand new again at a fraction of the cost compared to a replacement.
