Ever feel like technology is taking over your life? My boyfriend and I have had more than one squabble over how much time I spend on my phone. I’m addicted, I’ll admit. I spend all day in front of the computer working (blogging) and then in the evening I answer a lot of emails, post to Instagram, and start my to-do list for the next day via the notes app of my phone.
Turns out I’m not the only one that can’t tear their eyes away from their phones for more than a few minutes. The average person spends 10 hours a day looking at screens, whether it be that phone screen, tablet screen, computer screen, or TV screen! That’s 70 hours a week we’re staring at our technology!
While looking at your phone obsessively instead of paying attention to your sister may cause a few squabbles here and there, there’s actually something worse going on behind the scenes of all that technology flooding your day!
Your computer, TV, tablet, cell phone, and even those energy-efficient light bulbs are all emitting harmful blue light, which has nearly the same effect on eyes as those harmful UV rays! In fact, being exposed to high amounts of blue light throughout the day has been linked to health problems such as Macular Degeneration, eye fatigue, dry eyes, and sleep disorders, including insomnia. Research shows that it may even contribute to more serious health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and even cancer.
With most of us being surrounded by technology 24/7, it’s no wonder so many of us are experiencing these health and sleep problems! All this light might be great for keeping us awake and alert during the day, but at night, it works against us by throwing off the body’s natural biological clock.
Luckily for us fashionista’s, there is a fabulous, easy, and stylish way to counteract all this blue light our eyes are coming into contact with each day! ProSPEK Glasses from Spectrum Eyewear block up to 99% of the blue light that comes from computer screens, phones, tablets, and other electronic devices. It’s fashion that’s good for your health!
They have lots of different and fabulous styles to choose from and these chic glasses have a ton of health benefits besides looking stylish and filtering out those nasty blue lights!
Benefits of wearing ProSPEK Glasses:
- Blue Light AND UV light Blocking
- Eye Comfort – less eye strain and diminished dry eyes
- 100% UV Light-blocking
- Wearing them helps you sleep better
- Better health- It’s even great for those who suffer from migraines and headaches
Each lens is also anti-glare, anti-reflective, anti-scratch, anti-fog, and anti-screen flicker. They also won’t smudge from fingerprints if you accidentally touch them either! Nice!
They have two types of glasses you can choose from. Some that offer 50% blue-light blocking and others that offer 99% blocking.
The 50% light-blocking glasses have a slight yellow tint that is barely noticeable and look like regular prescription glasses. They work great for day while working at your computer. These glasses block out the most harmful blue light while allowing all the other colors through, so they won’t distract you from what you’re doing.
The 99% light -blocking glasses are great for the evening when you want to wind down while watching a movie, catching up on some emails, or scrolling Facebook. They have much more of a yellow tint and are ideal for those that tend to be more sensitive to blue light, or for those who would like to improve sleep.
I not only love the way they look on, but after only wearing these lovely glasses for a few days, I’ve noticed my eyes seem less dry after working at my computer all day, and I’ve been sleeping better too!

I can see howthis would help. Both hubby and I have noticed if we are online long, we have to take a lot of breaks or our eyes are just wor out. We dont use cellphones thank goodness. I tried using a friends, and the writing was so small I had to find a pair of reading glasses
I am going to be ordering a pair of these glasses pronto.
I have no idea why they didn’t think of this sooner, or why you can’t get a rx pair of these that also protects from blue light.
Got to check this out. In the darker days (autumn & winter, especially), it seems like the contrast between the light screens and the low ambient light makes my eyestrain worse. Thanks for the heads up!
