It wasn’t that long ago after a nice meal with my boyfriend of just over one year, I somehow actually felt comfortable enough (I guess), to let him in on a small little.. well… pooping problem I have. My whole life I’ve suffered from not-so-fun constipation. In fact, I was discussing with a friend not that long ago (who obviously has had similar problems) how we both thought it was normal to only poop once a week! Yeah, I believed that well into my late teens and early 20s, because that’s how often I was going, so I thought that was how often everyone must be going too!
Well, I found out I was so very wrong when another friend of mine mentioned to me that she hadn’t “gone” in about 3 days, and she was getting worried. “3 days? How often are you suppose to go, I ask here?” She tells me, well, daily of course! Oh boy, really? (I was about the age of 24 here, mind you!) I didn’t know I was that far off. I mean, I’m still going about once, maybe twice a week here, yikes! It weirds me out to think about now, I must have been so bloated and ugh.. how did I not know?!
Well, once my friend opened my eyes, I started researching how to be more regular. I started adding more fiber to my diet, eating less cheese, and I started trying to eat healthier, but constipation (a symptom of IBS) is still something I deal with to this day, at 37 years of age.
When I spoke to my boyfriend about it, he told me that he noticed I eat super fast and said he had heard that slowing down and chewing food more thoroughly helps. I’ve always been a very fast eater, since my days of playing High School Basketball where I worked up quite an appetite every night after practice. I remember coming home and shoving food in as fast as I could, and eating way more than I should! Well, that unfortunate habit has stuck with me. So I took my boyfriend’s advice, and you know what? It actually helped, quite a bit! I was happily surprised. But I’ve noticed I still have a hard time staying out of my eating too fast habit. I get stressed, I work while I eat, and I find my self right back in not-so-happy constipation land, sitting over the toilet bowl shrieking, “oww!!!”
I had heard of IBS but actually had no idea constipation was a symptom. I had always thought it was just the complete opposite – diarrhea! Ick! A problem I’ve honestly not suffered from most of my life, as you can imagine.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a common (affecting 1-in 5 Americans) gastrointestinal disorder, that includes symptoms such as the two I just mentioned, as well as alternating bouts of both constipation and diarrhea, abdominal pain, gas, bloating, cramping, and abdominal bowel habits. I was actually surprised to read these symptoms and realize that the bloating is another huge problem for me (and has been for my entire life) and yeah I’ll admit it, gas too!
If you have IBS, you’ve probably had little to no relief from costly doctor’s visits, prescription drugs with terrible side effects, probiotics, or over-the-counter one-ingredient treatments like peppermint gels and peppermint capsules. While I actually haven’t been to a doctor for my problem, I have tried probiotics quite regularly but haven’t always had much luck with them either.
While some tips may help, like my boyfriend’s tip of slowing down while eating and chewing food better – may help with some symptoms, often times most of us find we need more help. Luckily, there is a fabulous natural supplement from IBS treatment that is designed to provide total relief from the various symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome.
The magic of IBS Formula is in the blend! This supplement combines antioxidant-rich super-foods and clinically proven digestive remedies, to balance the flora within the digestive tract and help with the abnormal intestinal spasms that go along with an irritable bowel, sort of like what your probiotics due, but with more power! The holistic herbs and plant-based ingredients aid in digestion, detoxify the body, remedy and lubricate the intestines, productively eliminate waste and ease gut discomfort. This proprietary blend is the ideal combination to provide relief for irritable bowel syndrome symptoms. Several clinical trials and studies have proven that the natural ingredients in IBS Formula DO provide relief for IBS. Additionally, these ingredients can also provide many other important health benefits in addition to just treating IBS, when taken daily. IBS formula is super easy to take, just take the easy to swallow capsule twice a day, once in the morning, and once at night.
I’ve been taking the awesome super innovative supplement myself over the last few days, and have already experienced some relief. I’ve been more regular (without worrying too much about what I eat), and probably the biggest difference for me has been less bloating and less gas! Hallelujah!

Oooh very interesting!! I have had IBS for a long time but it has gotten worse with age. So bad that I had a colonoscopy at 31 to make sure I didn’t have cancer! Thankfully Im good but have been told to do a low FODMAP diet and take peppermint oil capsules. I already take a ton of probiotics!! Do these have peppermint oil in them?
Sorry for the late reply! No I don’t believe it has peppermint oil.
So glad to hear you’re doing better! xoxo
I also thought that IBS meant diarrhea! Thanks for resolving that misconception.
