Sometimes it can feel like the pursuit of perfection is never-ending. There are so many products out there that claim to help you achieve that look you’ve been trying to attain for so long. Amidst all this marketing, it can be easy to lose sight of the most important part of a good beauty routine: Taking care of yourself. Your primary goal with any beauty routine should be to ensure that your body, skin, hair, and mind are in the best condition they can be. Lots of beauty products have long lists of ingredients which include substances you’ve never even heard of. However, some of the best products out there use all-natural ingredients. Those ingredients can be had in their unadulterated form and can transform your routine in a hugely positive way. Below are some of the most popular natural products that you can use to take your beauty routine to the next level.
Coconut Oil
One of the most versatile products you can add to your beauty routine is coconut oil. It not only has amazing moisturising qualities that will relieve dry skin on your hands, face, and body, but it also makes a great and inexpensive shaving foam (or oil) for your legs. It will soften the hairs allowing you to get a really close shave for extremely smooth legs. You can also use it as a makeup remover, as it will gently cleanse off even tough waterproof mascara without you having to rub and scrub at your skin. You can then use it as a moisturiser or mix it with either some honey and yoghurt to make a face mask. For your hair, you can give it a deep condition by leaving a mask of coconut oil on it for 10-15 minutes. The benefits of using this inexpensive product are quite literally endless.
Argan Oil
Commonly used as a skin moisturiser due to the high levels of vitamin E, argan oil is already a staple part of many people’s beauty regimes. It is great as a healer for acne prone skin and is an antioxidant, good for preventing ageing, fine lines and wrinkles. This product also acts as a deep conditioner for hair, repairing split ends and putting moisture back into damaged hair. Especially if you colour your hair, or have been researching blonde hair ideas when you’re a natural brunette – you will definitely need a product that will introduce the shine and health back into your hair. Argan oil helps to tame frizz and gives your hair a natural shine.
Water
One of the best, easiest natural products to intake a lot of, is water. Skin cells are made up of water, so dehydration has a major effect on the skin, causing fine lines and wrinkles to be more prominent. Drinking water introduces more moisture and elasticity into your skin and helps your body to wash out toxins. This can help you to feel more energised almost straight away. Just be sure not to go overboard. Too much water in one go can ruin the salt levels in your body causing you to feel unwell. It is best to keep a bottle handy and drink little and often rather than wait until you feel dehydrated and force down an entire bottle in one go.
Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is one of those rare, seemingly miraculous products. You can have an almost limitless supply of it by simply buying an aloe vera plant, which are very cheap. All you have to do is break off a leaf and squeeze out the gel contained within. You can also buy 100% aloe vera gel from almost any health and beauty store too, just make sure that it is 100% aloe vera, and not a mix of other ingredients. Not only is it incredibly hydrating for the skin due to being 90% water, but it also has antibacterial and antioxidant qualities. It is great for treating sunburn, being used as a shaving gel, a moisturiser, or face mask. You can even mix it with a little water and use it as a mouthwash. The uses of aloe vera are almost endless, and with the plants being so cheap to buy, and practically impossible to kill, there’s no reason not to include this in your beauty routine.
There you have it, a selection of natural products that you can use to help keep your skin, hair, and teeth all in excellent condition. Beauty doesn’t have to be changing who you are and covering yourself up with hundreds of products. Beauty can just be about making sure that all of you is happy, healthy, and well looked after.
