Quality sleep accompanied with a healthy beauty routine every night is bound to give your skin a natural glow and make you look beautiful every morning. Sleep deprivation can actually cause premature aging of your skin, so it’s essential that you get enough sleep every night. However, this isn’t the only factor that will help you wake up looking stunning as ever. With these simple tips, you’ll look fresh, energized and healthy.
1. Have a self-love routine
Having some time for yourself is of the utmost importance for your general well-being. After a busy day, you should relax and spend some time connecting with your inner self, relieving stress and leaving all your worries behind. This is particularly important if you have difficulties falling asleep – a relaxing self-loving bubble bath can help you unwind and fall asleep much easier.
2. Develop a bedtime skincare routine
There are those days when you feel so tempted to skip taking off make-up and just crawl into your bed. Well, don’t! It’s essential that you have a regular skincare routine every night to enable your skin to recover overnight so that it looks fresh in the morning. The three pillars of a healthy routine are: cleanse, treat and moisturize. Just make sure not to exaggerate with special treatments like exfoliation – these should be done up to three times a week.
3. Minimize light pollution
Light pollution can disrupt your sleep and reduce its quality, which will consequently affect both your skin and your health. Thus, it’s essential that you block off street lights, blue lights from electronic devices, etc. You should introduce heavy dark drapes into your bedroom, use eye mask and avoid using your phone right before bedtime.
4. Stay hydrated
Since skin is prone to dehydration during night, it’s important to keep it hydrated by consuming enough water. However, drinking too much water before going to bed will disrupt your sleep because you’ll wake up during the night with a full bladder. Instead, you should eat foods rich in water because they will slowly release hydration. You’ll wake up looking fresh and energized every morning.
5. Try aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is perfect for creating an atmosphere of relaxation that will help you get into the sleep mode more easily. You should use essential oils in your night-time routine – drink chamomile tea, add drops of essential oils to your bath or make aromatherapy a part of your skincare. Lavender and chamomile promote relaxation, which makes them a perfect choice for bedtime relaxation.
6. Invest in quality fabrics
The fabrics you choose for your sheets play an important role in keeping your skin healthy. First of all, if you have some common allergies, you should choose hypoallergenic materials that will help you avoid any allergic reactions that may irritate your skin. Furthermore, ruff materials for your pillowcases can leave “sleep wrinkles” on your face, damaging your skin. Slippery and smooth materials, such as silk, satin, and sateen, are a much better option for your skin because you can toss and turn without worrying about damaging it.
7. Make yourself comfortable
Simply having eight hours of sleep won’t guarantee you’ll wake up feeling rested and energized in the morning. On the other hand, having eight hours of quality sleep will, so you need to make sure that you feel comfortable in your own bed. You need to find the right pillow – if you sleep on your stomach, a thin flat pillow will keep you happy, while a firmer one is more appropriate if you sleep on your side. Next, your back should have the right support, and investing in a high-quality mattress will ensure that.
For a healthy and quality sleep, you should consider comfortable natural latex mattress that is resistant to dust mites, bacteria, and fungi, which makes them suitable for individuals who suffer from asthma or hay fever. Thus, not only will you provide your back with a comfortable and appropriate support, but you’ll also eliminate the risk of having allergic reactions.
Getting enough quality sleep, staying hydrated and taking care of your skin every night will ensure that you wake up feeling rested, energized and beautiful every morning.

Great post! Quality sleep is SO important. We covered sleep hygiene in one of my Clinical Psych internships, kind of under the umbrella of behavioral psychotherapy. There’s A LOT of information out there! One “advice” sort of thing that I remember is this: If you can’t fall asleep, are waking in the middle of the night, etc., don’t look at the clock (or your phone). Something about seeing those numbers gets the wheels turning in all kinds of bad ways, and makes it even more difficult to fall [back] asleep. Trust your alarm clock, and allow your mind and body to fall asleep.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you found it informative! xoxo
